We were very excited over at the Hillsdale Headquarters late
last year when Pantone, that purveyor of color formulas for all shades of the
rainbow, named emerald its 2013 color. We love green, especially the brighter
hues, and love being surprised with it in home décor. We don’t produce too much
green furniture of our own around here (though several of our pieces would take
kindly to a layer of paint), so here are a few of our favorite looks from
around the internet.
On the Walls
Whether taking the wall-to-wall approach, or just
highlighting a single focal point, emerald gets attention.
In the Bedroom
Beds and bedding are some of our favorite (and simple) ways
to incorporate color, especially if you are prone to changing moods. Green hues
complement a wide range of neutral color schemes, and can also be very calming,
making them ideal for most bedrooms.
In the Kitchen
Kitchens practically beg for bright pops of color on the
stove, on the table, on the shelves. This year, stay on trend.
In the Bathroom
Enjoy a bright green pick-me-up with your morning showers in
2013. Green is a great color for bathroom walls, but if you aren’t ready for
that level of commitment, you can use a few easier touches.
How are you using shades of green this spring? We’re sure
everyone was dutifully wearing their green this past weekend for St. Patrick’s
Day, but was your home also?
