Super Bowl Style

This post is the first in a series on entertaining for the big game, this year being played between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots on Sunday, February 5.
Super Bowl Sunday is usually all about the pig skin, and the party food. This year, spice it up even more with a few fun decoration ideas to really amp up the big game atmosphere.
Set the main food table to look exactly like a football field. Find a green tablecloth, some white tape, then get to work setting the lines and the appropriate yardage. Add a creative centerpiece at the 50-yard line, using real (or miniature) footballs and penalty flags to call attention to that plate of hot wings (not that they’ll need it).
Color schemes should usually be drawn from your favorite team, though this can be tough when the invite list is diverse in its fandom. This year? No problem. Both the Pats and the Giants wear red and blue, so repurpose a few of those Fourth of July decorations, and save a few pennies while making everyone happy.
Flowers might not seem a priority on game day, but they can actually be major conversation-starters when planted in a football helmet or beer mug. Let your florist cut custom Styrofoam holders for you when you pick up your stems (bring the “vases” with you), then arrange yourself once you get home.
Also of paramount importance? The perfect entertainment center to house the real the star of the show—the TV. The Hillsdale Furniture Grand Bay Entertainment Center with Large Console, is a classic that dresses up well no matter the occasion. The smooth satin finish is available in either black or white for added versatility, and it boasts solid wood construction and knockouts in the back for easy cable management.  The console offers two glass front cabinets with adjustable shelves and an open center area with an additional adjustable shelf for storing your electronics, game systems, DVDs and CDs, or Super Bowl decorations.
